Exposure to hazardous chemicals poses serious problems for many workers. Chemical exposure may cause or contribute to many serious health effects such as heart ailments, kidney and lung damage, sterility, cancer, burns, and rashes. Because of the seriousness of these problems, and because many people know little or nothing about them, OSHA has developed the Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) standard.
This awareness level virtual training course provides information about the identification of chemical hazards, chemical labeling, and explanation of the new SDS (safety data sheet) format.
